February 13, 2025Welcome and Introduction
09:30 am - 09:35 am
Emerging Trends in Agrivoltaics and Floating Solar (Flotovoltaics)
The Indian solar market's rapid development has seen it among the top fifth globally. This has caused significant competition for land, which risks becoming a real bottleneck for further growth and meaning the country will need to turn increasingly to innovative applications, such as the co-location of solar and farming. Agrivoltaics has multiple benefits, including increased revenues for farmers, increased protection for crops from extreme weather events, decreased soil desertification, and improved circularity and sustainability for the agricultural sector. This session aims at bringing together experts from Europe and India to explore this new, innovative application of solar. Aspects of Floating Solar PV solutions will also be discussed.
